Special Issue: Optimizing Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) with the Internet of Medical Things in Pervasive Healthcare

The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is a healthcare system that uses IoT technology to enhance healthcare in various ways. It combines physical equipment, software, and hardware to connect health devices like sensors and handheld devices to the digital world. With the help of pervasive computing, it continuously monitors health data such as body weight, blood oxygen levels, and more. However, there are challenges related to data processing, analytics, wireless connectivity and communication in IoMT. IoMT aims to enhance the quality of life for residents and customers through Ambient Assisted Living (AAL). AAL involves making healthcare services more accessible for older people while ensuring their privacy at home. It uses sensor-based Ambient Intelligence and mobile healthcare technology to create intelligent spaces that gather and interpret data from various devices, leading to improved operational efficiency. Also, IoMT seeks to expand its network by incorporating advanced sensor-based devices into the global network.

Special Issue: Securing the IoT against Fault Injection Attacks using Digital Sensors

The Internet of Things (IoT) promises to be incredible in terms of usability and convenience, but its effects on security and privacy are less obvious. For cryptographers and system designers, the idea of billions of low-cost, lightweight, and highly networked endpoints poses several urgent challenges. These should ideally be answered before the IoT is widely deployed and its supporting infrastructure and standards are set. Fault injection attacks on IoT systems try to change software behaviour by inserting faults into the system's hardware components. Attackers insert bugs into hardware elements, including the voltage source, clock generator, and microprocessor, which can impact software performance. Several defenses from fault injection attacks at the software and system levels are studied. It is suggested that attack detection systems and software vulnerability scanning against fault injection attacks are filled with new technologies, such as code machine learning, instrumentation tools, and software testing ideas. IoT systems may be safer and resistant to fault injection attacks and the problems they cause by filling in these security vulnerabilities.
